Just a little ways away is the Camarillo Airport. But this place isn’t just about the planes and security. They have a well known restaurant known as Way Point Cafe that several pilots stop by to dine at in their spare time. I recently took a trip down there for breakfast, and it was overall great. Depending on where you sit, you can get a nice view of a few smaller planes landing. I was seated and immediately asked what I’d like to drink. I ordered a hot chocolate and was given a massive mug with a towering amount of whipped cream and lightly dusted with cocoa powder. That’s how a hot chocolate is meant to be. I then ordered their Cinnamon Roll French Toast, which is their Cinnamon Roll cut up and served French Toast style (pretty self explanatory). I received four massive Cinnamon Roll pieces served with butter and syrup on the side and icing drizzled on top. It was absolutely delicious, but also extremely filing. It tasted exactly as you would expect: cinnamony, but also warm and with syrup on top. I managed to eat about half of mine before giving up. This place had overall good service, delicious food, and an amazing view of the incoming planes. Was this a Food Fantasy? Of course!
Welcome to the part of the blog where I review restaurants! My first review: Five Guys Burgers and Fries. A burger restaurant that has several different locations all around the country. You can get many different styles of burgers. You choose what size (regular or little), what type (hamburger, cheeseburger, or bacon cheeseburger), and what condiments you want on it. My most common order is a little bacon cheeseburger plain. The service is fairly fast and mostly accurate (although they gave my brother the wrong size and my mom extra onions when she asked for none once). They also have fries, where they fill up a cup and dump about another cup worth into the bag that your order comes in. One unique thing about Five Guys is that they have tubs of shelled peanuts that you can scoop up and put in your own little tray (unlimited! But you can’t take them out of the restaurant). They cook your burgers fresh and on the spot. When I took my first bite of the burger, I’ve gotta admit: It wasn’t any ordinary burger. Very juicy patty with slightly melted cheese and crispy bacon? Who doesn’t want that! It was delicious, and between that, the fries, and the peanuts, I was stuffed for the night. Lots of people compare this place to In N’ Out, but in all honesty, Five Guys just can’t be beat when it comes to a chain burger place. Although In N’ Out is good, they don’t serve peanuts, and (as far as I know) no bacon either. I would strongly recommend Five Guys, as it’s one of my family’s favorite places, and their burgers are cooked to perfection. It’s at the top of my book with five stars. That proves it: This place is a true food fantasy.
