Way Point Cafe

Just a little ways away is the Camarillo Airport.  But this place isn’t just about the planes and security.  They have a well known restaurant known as Way Point Cafe that several pilots stop by to dine at in their spare time.  I recently took a trip down there for breakfast, and it was overall great.  Depending on where you sit, you can get a nice view of a few smaller planes landing.  I was seated and immediately asked what I’d like to drink.  I ordered a hot chocolate and was given a massive mug with a towering amount of whipped cream and lightly dusted with cocoa powder.  That’s how a hot chocolate is meant to be.  I then ordered their Cinnamon Roll French Toast, which is their Cinnamon Roll cut up and served French Toast style (pretty self explanatory).  I received four massive Cinnamon Roll pieces served with butter and syrup on the side and icing drizzled on top.  It was absolutely delicious, but also extremely filing.  It tasted exactly as you would expect: cinnamony, but also warm and with syrup on top.  I managed to eat about half of mine before giving up.  This place had overall good service, delicious food, and an amazing view of the incoming planes.  Was this a Food Fantasy?  Of course!

Who’s Tube do YouTube?

As I said in a recent post, I’ve recently become obsessed with YouTubers. There are sooo many people (some with over 5 million subscribers!) that are absolutely perfect, but there’s a few I wanted to recommend to you today.

1. Zoella (aka Zoe Sugg)
Zoe has been on YouTube for a looong time now, but she’s absolutely amazing! She’s all about beauty and fashion, along with a big sense of humor! She currently lives in Brighton and is a role model to so many people. From teaching us how to do a Halo Braid to doing her brother’s makeup to talking about her personal story with anxiety, there’s no wonder she’s got six million subscribers! So if you’re looking for some beauty tips or just a wonderful collaboration, check her out!

2. ThatcherJoe (aka Joe Sugg)
Joe Sugg is overall hysterical. His channel is the one that constantly makes you cry from laughing so hard. He’s the brother of Zoe, and he currently lives in London with his good friend Caspar Lee (also a YouTuber). From spot on impressions of movie characters to his clever challenges (like the YouTuber whispers), he’s absolutely amazing!

3. Miranda Sings/PsychoSoprano (aka Coleen Ballinger).
Colleen Ballinger not only has her own channel, but has a separate channel for her awkward, annoying, hilarious character Miranda Sings. Miranda may wear the red lipstick and haters back off sweats, but Colleen’s got all the comedy! She’s an amazing singer and an inspiration to all. She’s got great vlogs, funny challenges/collabs, hysterical Q&As, and some crazy music videos on both channels. You should definitely watch her!

There are soooo many more people that would be great for you to watch, but those are just a few to get you started. If you’ve got some free time on your hands, just hop on to YouTube and check them out! Who are your favorite YouTubers? Let me know in the comments below!IMG_2044.JPG

So, this little tab section-thing of the blog was all about my baking fails! However, I’m thinking that now it won’t just be about baking, but about truly ecstatic experiences that I’ve had! Whether it’s a cool trip or just a fun day out with friends, it’ll all be here! Get ready!:)

Catching Up…

I know, I know. I haven’t exactly blogged in a while…but I figured I’d start it up again!

To start off, I’ve moved schools, and I LOVE IT! Of course there are SO MANY friends that I miss, but we all keep in touch. Everyone at this school is so nice and despite the high stress, I like all my classes!

Dance wise, Nutcracker Rehearsals are in full swing. This year I’m Fritz (Clara’s Brother), a Rat in the battle scene, an Angel, Side Arabian, and Side Spanish. The first and last parts are SO GOOD! Fritz is a solo part, which is insane, and Side Spanish is normally only given to the higher level, so I’m so lucky for this opportunity. Rat, Angel, and Side Arabian are just super fun! My goal for next year? Clara!!

Baking wise? Let’s just say there will be several more recipes posted!

I also have some new obsessions…starting with YouTube! Well, YouTubers to be exact:). I recently discovered the large world of YouTubers, and I love watching their videos (I know, sounds like I have no life, but I promise I do sort of:D). I’ll recommend some for you guys to go watch later on:)!
Another obsession is Glee. I know it’s been out for a while, but I recently watched it on Netflix and I love it! The drama, the comedy, and ESPECIALLY the music! Their voices are INSANE.

There’s just some stuff to catch you all up! I promise I’ll be posting a lot more! What have you guys been up to? Let me know in the comments below!:)

The Fudge That Never Hardened

So, with a recent get-together, my friend and I decided that we were in the snacking mood. But, like all people, we never want to just pull something out of the pantry. No, we must bake! We raided the cookbooks and decided that a slight alteration on a rocky-road fudge recipe would be fun. We melted the cream and chocolate and mixed it with the marshmallow cream (this was our alteration…rather than using mini marshmallows, we decided the cream form would be a fine substitution). Once it was all mixed together (with light marshmallow chunks), we poured it into our 8×8 ” pan. We added some butterscotch chips, then stuck it in the fridge to harden. We waited, and waited, and waited…after about two grueling hours, our fudge still wasn’t hardening. Baffled, I decided sticking it in the freezer would be another option to try. After being in the freezer for another hour or so, we discovered that this fudge would not be firm. Although the taste was delicious, the texture was far from right. What could have gone wrong? Any ideas? The greatest chefs had to fail every once in a while, right?

This is what our fudge looked like. The liquid fudge (before the hardening!).
